We believe in giving back to communities that need it
We are determined that our impact on the world comes not just from encouraging people to buy better and wear forever, but also educating our community on sustainable living, responsible tourism, which in turn benefits the destinations and the local people all over the world.
Our design ethos has always been to put longevity first, we create contemporary clothing, without an expiration date. Throughout our design and development process, we keep waste to a minimum. We donate all our un-required garment samples to local homeless charities and unused fabrics to textile recycling mills. We use natural or sustainable fibres in our fabrics, and only use recycled polyester. We have pledged to stop using single use plastics, starting from 2021. There is still a lot more we can do, and now are working to produce in a more sustainable way which is one of our goals as a business. We do promise to continually work towards a better future.
We believe that the success of the one should feed the commitment of the other, so we have been making direct donations from our own pockets to related charities that we truly care about. You can read below about some of the charities we have been supporting.
SURFERS AGAINST SEWAGE
SAS work directly with local communities to ensure the future of our oceans, campaigning to protect the marine environment, inspiring and educating people on ways to protect our beautiful coastlines.
As a member of the 250 club, we join with likeminded businesses who care passionately about the marine environment and support SAS work with an annual donations. We also love being involved in the SAS beach cleans, we deeply admire their plastic free community initiative, and the fact that they involve the local communities in their projects. Education is really the best way to ensure we can get this right for future generations.
SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL INTERNATIONAL
Sustainable travel international takes on tourism’s most pressing and transformative impacts, and work towards a future where travel is beneficial for people and places all around the world. As a guardian member, we donate to help encourage communities to leave a lighter footprint and create a positive impact in the places explored, helping to protect the places you love.
GLOBAL FRIENDSHIP
The Guangzhou based network and support group, Global Friendship, started their 'Educate A Child' campaign in 2015. 'Educate A Child' is committed to providing a chance for underprivileged children to have the opportunity to have an education. This charity is working with schools and students in Guizhou province, one of the most impoverished regions in China. We are proud to be working with them on the 'Kongnai Playground' project.
CARBON FOOTPRINT
We offset all of our companies carbon footprint with carbonfootprint. Carbon offsetting projects help to combat global climate change as well as caring for local communities. In many instances providing much needed employment, health improvement, biodiversity, reforestation and broad social benefits to impoverished communities.
